Government To Ban Importation And Sale Of Scratch Bombs

Government says it will soon be illegal to import and sell scratch bombs in Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, made the announcement at Thursday’s Post Cabinet Media Briefing. He said the ban on scratch bombs is something that has been called for by the public.

The Ministry of Education has also placed a zero tolerance policy on scratch bombs. Earlier this month, a Secondary School teacher was sent to the hospital for injuries caused by a scratch bomb thrown by students.

The National Security Minister said scratch bombs will become an illegal item, and persons can be charged and brought before the courts for having it in their possession.
