Training For Police Recruits
National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds is adamant that the training programme adopted by the Police Academy is poised to make an impact on this country’s efforts to reduce violent crime.
Minister Hinds made the point while speaking on Monday at the Standing Finance Committee.
He listed several programmes that have been identified as areas that will develop the skill level of police officers when they are set to execute their duties.
Minister Hinds noted that new recruits will face some new courses at the St. James Academy that are focused on investigating violent and gang-related crimes, as well as human trafficking.
