Today’s Highlights:
A total of four (4) murders were recorded in the country over the weekend.
• Two (2) of the murders took place in the Southern Division, one (1) in the Central Division, and one (1) in the South Western Division.
• All of the victims died as a result of gun violence.
22-year-old Deshawn Thompson of Penal Rock Road was shot and killed outside a bar along the S.S. Erin Road in Debe, early on Sunday 17th November 2024.
Deshawn’s best friend, 22-year-old Donte Fortune of Quarry Road Morne Diablo, Penal, was shot dead outside Side Bar, Southern Main Road Claxton Bay on Friday 1st November 2024.
50-year-old Anthony C. Seeram aka Tony and Jackie of Siewdass Road, Freeport was fatally shot at Church Street Chickland in Freeport on Sunday 17th November 2024.
Following Seeram’s death there is little to no sympathy as he is allegedly a known con man.
A man was shot dead while sleeping next to his wife and two-month-old child at his mother’s home in Bayshore West Marabella on Sunday 17th November 2024.
• The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Mark Phillip Heeralal, a fisherman of Sum Sum Hill in Claxton Bay.
A gay rights activist was shot dead outside a private party held at his residence in Ste. Madeleine on Friday 15th November, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 47-year-old Kenty Mitchell, a maxi-taxi driver and private-for-hire driver of Ritchie Street, Ste. Madeleine.
During a Constitutional Reform consultation held by the then UNC Government in February 2014, Mitchell called for gay rights to be enshrined in the Constitution.
• He successfully sued the State on two occasions after he was arrested by police who chastised him about his sexuality.
One bandit is dead, another wounded, and a third at large after a robbery in Aranguez:
• CCTV footage captured the robbery and the subsequent intervention by police in Aranguez on Monday 18th November 2024.
• Details of the incident are sketchy, but sometime after lunch, three men robbed a Blue Waters truck along the Aranguez Main Road.
Days after screams were heard, the decomposed, nude body of a man was found at his home in Enterprise, Chaguanas on Saturday 16th November, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as Clifford Cox, of #16 Pride Terrace, Lions Gate, Enterprise, who was bedridden and lived with his mentally ill son.
A 22-year-old died by suicide in Penal on Sunday 17th November 2024:
• The deceased has been identified as Rohan Mungroo of Digity Trace, Clarke Road, Penal.
• Mungroo was found hanging from a piece of rope from a rafter board in the living room area, around 1:10pm.
• A suicide note was also found on a counter approximately 1 foot away from the deceased.
A Security Officer who was reported missing on Saturday 16th November, 2024 has returned home safely.
• The victim is Marlon Pope, who lives at Railway Road California, Couva.
A pensioner was allegedly beaten with her handbag by her son as he searched for her pension money.
• This 61-year-old man has reportedly been beating his 80-year-old mother for her pension money.
• His name is Sean Webster, and the incidents occur regularly at their home in San Juan.
• Webster also threatened to kill his mother as well as his sister and her children, if they returned to T&T.
• According to the woman’s daughter, she made at least 5 reports to officers at the San Juan Police Station who failed to intervene.
