The siege continues at the Argentine Embassy in Caracas
Pedro Urruchurtu – one of the six opponents sheltered since March in the official residence of the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela – denounced this Monday that, for the second consecutive day, continue “the siege” around the property by state security agents.
Urruchurtu, a close collaborator of opposition leader María Corina Machado, told Efe that today the situation in the residence “continues to be tense”, with officials in “the outskirts and a permanent siege” since 6:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. GMT) on Saturday.
“We have no more information nor have they told us anything, but they remain there”stated the also international coordinator of the Vente Venezuela (VV) party, led by Machado.
He indicated that, shortly after midnight on Sunday, they “removed” the electrical service from the residence, which was restored at 5:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. GMT) of the same day.
