A member of the Aragua Train is arrested in Tennessee for violent crimes
The Chattanooga Police Department in the city of Tennessee, United States, arrested last week, during an operation related to a human trafficking network, a Venezuelan who was identified as a member of the Aragua Train criminal organization.
Adelvis Rodríguez Carmona, 30 years old, is suspected of committing violent crimes in Chicago and New York. As of Monday, November 25, he remained in custody at the Hamilton County Jail with bail of $125,000, according to Noticias Telemundo.
The Venezuelan faces one count of frequenting prostitution, one count of possession of marijuana for resale, one count of possession of Xanax for resale, one count of possession of crack cocaine for resale and one count of illegal possession of a weapon.
During the operation in which the Aragua Train member was arrested, Wilimar Herrera Guedez, 29, who faces a charge of prostitution, was also arrested; Rebeca De Los Juárez Lucena, 26, who faces one count of prostitution and Yidalbris Marcano Salas, 29, who faces one count of prostitution, one count of possession of marijuana for resale, one count of possession of Xanax for resale, one count of possession of crack cocaine for resale and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon.
What do they accuse the Venezuelan accused of being a member of the Aragua Train?
Rodríguez Carmona was arrested by Cicero, Illinois Police on February 24 for the offenses of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, failure to carry a weapons permit, driving without a license or insurance, possession of cannabis for adult use in a motor vehicle. However, he was released, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The detainee was being sought by Chicago Police for his possible link to a drive-by shooting in the La Villita neighborhood.
On March 11, ICE officers arrested Rodríguez Carmona without incident outside his residence and he was detained at the Dodge County Detention Center in Juneau, Wisconsin, pending deportation proceedings.
It is unknown if the Venezuelan was deported or released from the detention center.
ICE confirmed that on March 25, 2022, Border Patrol encountered the Aragua Train member near Eagle Pass, Texas, and he was released on bond on July 7, 2022.
A year later, on July 7, 2023, an immigration judge issued a final deportation order for the Venezuelan in absentia.
