Masked men stabbed a Venezuelan deliveryman to steal his motorcycle in New York
A Venezuelan food deliveryman was stabbed by masked men when he resisted the theft of his motorcycle on December 3 in Brooklyn, New York.
After the assault, which occurred around 9:30 am local time, police found the 25-year-old Venezuelan man in a semi-conscious state due to blood loss.
Witnesses indicated that two masked individuals, presumably also Hispanic, approached the delivery man when he was about to fill gas on his motorcycle. When he refused, the attackers stabbed the Venezuelan in the arm and caused serious bleeding that put his life at risk.
A 34-year-old witness who tried to intervene received two stab wounds, one in the back and another in the leg, in addition to being hit with the motorcycle’s own lock, according to Univisión Noticias.
Witnesses helped save the life of the Venezuelan delivery driver
Mechanical workshop workers at a nearby gas station acted quickly to save the life of the Venezuelan delivery driver, who was not identified by the authorities. With the help of coats and other fabrics, they applied pressure to the young man’s wound to prevent him from bleeding.
Witnesses suspect the attackers to be local gang members.
The New York Police maintain an active investigation of the case and requests citizen collaboration through the Crime Stop Line to locate the assailants.
