Princes Town woman, 82, stabbed 16 times in home invasion
POLICE are investigating a Princes Town home invasion which sent an 82-year-old woman to hospital after her attacker stabbed her 16 times.
Police said the pensioner went to bed around 11 pm after locking her Centenary Street home but woke up around 12.15 am when she felt someone over her. The attacker then stabbed her several times before escaping.
Her son took her to the Princes Town Health Facility and she was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
Doctors told police the woman was stabbed five times in her abdomen, eight times on her left shoulder, twice in her back and once in her cheek.
PC Ramdath is continuing enquiries.
