Abducted man, 69, found dead in his car

Police are on the highway near Golconda where the body of an abducted man was found in a vehicle around 10:30 a.m.
Hours earlier Winston Thomas, 69, a pensioner, had been robbed and kidnapped from his Penal home by Hispanic assailants.
Police received information that Thomas’s vehicle, a white B15 Nissan, was parked along the Northbound lane of the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Golconda. The right side of the tyre was blown out.
Highway Patrol officers responded and observed his body covered in blood in the back seat. He had a stab wound to the head and his hands were tied behind his back.
Shortly after 2 am, the police received a report that Thomas of Ali Avenue, Penal Rock Road, was beaten by several men believed to be Spanish-speaking nationals and forced into the back seat of his car.
The men also placed a TV and a red 20lb gas tank in the back seat and then drove off.
The police searched extensively on Penal Rock Road, Morne Diablo, Seemungal Trace, Scott’s Road and Bunsee Trace.
Officers of the Southern Division, South Western Division and Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations are on the scene.
