Carlos Valecillo Ramírez’s mother asks that a presidential order be issued
Isabel Ramírez, mother of political prisoner held in Tocorón Carlos Eduardo Valecillo Ramírez, requested that a presidential order be issued authorizing him to visit him and verify his state of health after a suicide attempt the morning this Sunday, December 8.
«Several times he has told me that he wants to end his life and today, sad and regrettable, he tried to commit suicide. I ask you, Mr. President Maduro, Give me the order to be able to enter the prison to see my son and to set him free.. “Put your hand on your heart, as a father, and give my son freedom,” he expressed in a video shared on social networks.
He assured that his son is innocent and that he will not leave the prison until he is released. «These are words of a desperate mother. “I’m not leaving here, nor are my family.”

Relatives of Valecillo Ramírez reported that the young man tried to take his life early this Sunday; He was helped by his cellmates and then rushed to the prison infirmary.
The young man He had written a letter in which he expressed his wish to die because of his suffering.
The organization Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón joined the call to allow the family to enter the prison to verify the health of the young man and accompany him; as well as his immediate release.
“The young man was arrested on July 29 by the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence. His family had reported that he suffers from serious health problems, including depression and abscesses on his face that caused deformations and fever,” Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón denounced on social networks.
They added that, despite the critical state of health, the authorities have not offered medical assistance, violating their human rights.
“In a letter to his family he had warned of his intentions to make an attempt on his life. We remember that the Venezuelan State has the obligation to guarantee the health and well-being of all people in its custody, as established by the Constitution and the international human rights treaties ratified by Venezuela,” they noted.
