Childhood Memories at Studio Joli
In recognition of World Youth Day, Studio Joli has encouraged local artists to reflect on their younger years, allowing them to present works reminiscent of their youth in its latest exhibition, Childhood Memories.
Karen Hale Jackson – Special Day at Pigeon Point – Anthony George – Cycle at Sunrise –The months of July and August can evoke feelings of excitement in some and nostalgia in others. As World Youth Day coincides with this time period, the gallery viewed it as an opportunity to appeal to these feelings, with the intention of exposing viewers to glimpses of days gone and/or what is to come, said a media release.
Benjamin Joel – Springtime Savannah – Shalini Singh – Flowers in the Garden –Ask anyone what their idea of childhood is, and visions are conjured of many different experiences, some intimately specific, most relatable to everyone. This exhibition seeks to remind us all of the child within, and the joy we share, the release said.
Analicia Dubraisingh Garcia – Afternoons Edged in Gold –Childhood Memories runs until August 29 during the studio’s regular hours, 10 am-6 pm Monday-Friday, and 10 am-2 pm on Saturdays.
Studio Joli is at 21, Henry Pierre Street, St James.
