COSTAATT links up with Regency Recruitment to help ex-prisoners
The College of Science, Technology, and Applied Arts (COSTAATT) and Regency Recruitment and Resources Limited have collaborated to provide employment opportunities for former prisoners.
It’s called the LinkUp programme and the goal is to offer a pathway from prison to college or entrepreneurship to reduce recidivism rates.
So far, the LinkUp programme has had one successful three-month session preparing the former prisoners who are set to graduate in September for reintegration.
COSTAATT and Regency Recruitment and Resources Limited said they were committed to supporting the former prisoners’ transition into the workforce and added that interested firms have pledged their support by offering on-the-job training to further develop the skills of these individuals.
The ex-prisoners will be provided with essential services including resume writing, interview preparation, and recruitment assessments.
COSTAATT said this partnership marks a significant step forward in addressing the challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals and demonstrates the commitment of both organisations to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
