CPO continues talks with police and Defence Force
Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Commander Dr Daryl Dindial continued negotiations with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Social and Welfare Association (TTPSWA) and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) Pay Review Committee yesterday.
A media release from the Office of the CPO said discussions with the TTPSWA focused on the ongoing Job Evaluation Exercise agreed upon in prior negotiations. Other topics included T&T’s economic outlook, pension reform, a group health plan, and allowances for rent, uniforms, and clothing.
Dindial noted the TTPSWA is finalising its proposals, with further discussions expected in December.
The meeting with the TTDF addressed potential grade structure compression and allowances, including rent, uniform, clothing, special service, disturbance, and specialisation allowances. The talks also covered the “x-factor,” a term referring to unique compensatory measures for service members.
Dindial described the meetings as cordial and productive, emphasising a shared understanding of the organisation’s critical roles in national security and, for the TTDF, in regional humanitarian and disaster relief efforts.
