Juntos Se Podemos Foundation spoke with former regional presidents to promote actions in favor of migrants
The Juntos Se Podemos Foundation was present at the international forum “Artificial Intelligence: Angel or Demon”, organized by the Innovation for Development Foundation, which brought together key figures in international politics, such as former presidents Iván Duque of Colombia, Guillermo Lasso of Ecuador, and Tuto Quiroga from Bolivia. During this event, the Foundation took the opportunity to deliver the report to former President Iván Duque and his Latin American colleagues: Radiography Migration of Venezuelans 2024, which offers a detailed analysis of migratory flows and their implications in the region.
The pro-migrant organization highlighted with its presence the impact of Venezuelan migration and the need to incorporate migrants into discussions about global governance, especially in the context of artificial intelligence. In its meeting with Duque, the Foundation stressed the urgency of creating inclusive policies that do not leave Venezuelan migrants aside in the design of technological and social solutions.
The forum, which included important discussions on “Democracy and Geopolitics: The Impact of AI on Global Governance”, addressed how artificial intelligence can be a driver for social and economic transformation, and how countries should prepare to address both its potentials and risks. Iván Duque, during his intervention, highlighted that AI must be used to close social gaps and strengthen key sectors such as education, health and agriculture, while emphasizing the need to protect fundamental rights and freedoms in this new technological environment.
One of the most relevant panels of the forum, titled “Sustainability in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” explored how AI can be harnessed to address environmental challenges, transforming sustainability into an opportunity for a more responsible and equitable future. This space, moderated by Carolina Salgado and with the participation of Zen Matoshi and Andrés Sierra, highlighted the crucial role of technological innovation in creating sustainable solutions.
The Juntos Se Podemos Foundation, when delivering the report Radiography Migration of Venezuelans 2024 and by sharing his perspective on the immigration situation, he continues to work in defense of the rights of Venezuelans living outside their country, seeking to have their voice heard in international forums on governance and development.
