Last weekend, a global protest by Venezuelans took place in which they demanded that the International Criminal Court (ICC) intervene in the crisis in Venezuela after the presidential elections on July 28 in which Nicolás Maduro was proclaimed as a winner.
As part of the commemoration of World Human Rights Day, Venezuelans around the world demanded that the ICC accelerate the investigation into crimes against humanity attributed to the government of Nicolás Maduro.
In an audio, Machado recalled the situation that Venezuelans are going through with deficient basic services added to repression by State security agencies.
«I ask each of you, my dear Venezuelans, that in this time of preparation we reflect on all of the above because in our determination lies the invincible character of our struggle. They will not be able to prevent us from enforcing the popular mandate that we issued on July 28 if we remain united and determined to defend it. Let’s take a step together, every day, in that direction,” he indicated.
At the same time he added: “In every city in the world where there is a Venezuelan, we are going to protest to tell this international court a very clear message: ICC acts now.”
