Police recover some jewellery in last week’s Lowlands heist

Some of the jewellery stolen in last Wednesday’s Tobago robbery has been recovered, but police are still closing in on the suspects.

The robbery happened around 10.50 am at Caribbean Jewelers Gulf City Mall Lowlands branch.

Reports stated that two armed men, posing as construction workers, entered the store, threatened employees, and demanded jewellery.

After filling a bag with valuables, the thieves fled through nearby bushes and escaped in a white Mitsubishi Lancer.

A small amount of the stolen jewellery was found shortly after along a dirt track near Toby Drive.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements as the investigation continues.–Elizabeth Gonzales
