The threats, he warned, include the possibility of withdrawing visits, worsening inhumane prison conditions and allowing “the pathologies that many suffer from” to worsen.
He added that prisoners suffer constant intimidation with warnings that “they will never be released and will die in prison.”
Relatives of political prisoners demand freedom and solidarity at Christmas
