Part of his message was addressed to Mariana González, a 17-year-old teenager who was released from prison after he sent a letter to his mother in which he expressed his desire not to continue living behind bars.

«She is a young Venezuelan who, like so many compatriots, He does not deserve the horror he is experiencing, because the situation of our political prisoners is criminal. They and their families are suffering deeply. They are all innocent. “They are all detained for telling the truth and for demanding that the law be followed, our rights, nothing more,” said María Corina Machado.

She added that upon reading his letter, she felt moved and condemned the physical and psychological torture of political prisoners. Furthermore, he described it as inconceivable that there are people dedicated to it and that others become indifferent to such events.

Machado also expressed that it was the responsibility of adults to protect and care for the children and adolescents of Venezuela.

Every night I ask God to give me strength and help me, I feel like I can’t take it anymore and that I’m left without strength.“said the young woman in the text sent to her mother.

Mariana González, her mother said, had the dream of being part of one of the State security forces. However, the suffering she has gone through has made her question her professional future.

The teenager’s words worried Febles. «I don’t want to make you feel bad, but if I can’t be with you, I don’t want to be with anyone. I prefer to die. Sometimes I want to hurt myself (…) I want to kill myself rather than continue suffering«wrote the girl.
