Teachers in Monagas were removed from the Ministry’s payroll
Darío Lima, president of the Single Teachers’ Union in Monagas, denounced that At least 1,500 teachers were suspended from the Ministry of Education payroll.
The union leader indicated that the situation is due to the fact that the national payroll is overloaded, which is why the suspension was registered without verification in the schools.
In statements to the press on Sunday, November 24, Lima reported that the Minister of Education, Hector Rodríguez, asked all chiefs of staff of the educational zones to carry out an audit throughout the national territory.
Lima highlighted that despite the situation, the majority of workers are active in educational institutions.
“Many directors and supervisors have already introduced the payroll and there is a possibility that they will be reimbursed for the fortnights that they are not collecting from these retired and active workers,” he added.
The leader of the teaching profession in the entity also called on the national government to meet with the 17 federations, in order to discuss collective contracting before the end of the year.
