The EU in Venezuela will hold an awareness day on gender violence
The Delegation of the European Union in Venezuela will hold a sports-family day called “Move against violence against women.” It is scheduled for Sunday, November 24 at the Central University of Venezuela, and its purpose is to raise awareness among the population about the gender violence.
It is a free activity and will take place from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, during which time numerous activities will take place. Through different dynamics, the public will be able to learn about the work carried out by 13 civil society organizations on this matter, whose work focuses on prevention, and psychological and legal care for women at risk, youth leadership and entrepreneurship. All of them will be located in Plaza Covered, next to the Aula Magna.
In the sports field, the day will begin at 8:45 am with a 5 KM walk at the university. There will also be dance therapy with teacher Carmen Ortiz (10:15 am), yoga with teacher Elio Martínez (11:15 am) and children’s story-telling (10:15 am) by the university theater group for children “El Chichón”. The UCV Cultural Youth Choir will be in charge of the closing with a small musical show at 12:30 pm.
In turn, attendees will be able to participate in a drawing with three special prizes. The first prize is one night for two people at the Humboldt Hotel; the second, a reading tablet for electronic books; and the third, a yoga mat and an aromatherapy set. In addition, the winners will receive additional services: a mammogram courtesy of Senosalud, a spot for the Aliadas en Cadena Entrepreneurs in Chain Program, and a daily pass to use Impact Hub’s shared work spaces.

On the part of civil society, the 13 organizations that will participate in this information fair are: Aliadas en Cadena, Association of Scout Guides of Venezuela, Venezuelan Women’s Association, Venezuelan Association for Alternative Sexual Education (AVESA), EmpoderaME, Fondo of the United Nations Population (UNFPA), Impact Hub, Women and Citizenship, Girl Mother, Venezuelan Observatory of Women’s Human Rights, Another Approach, Senosalud and Violet Ink.
This year’s edition of the “Move against violence against women” campaign has the support of the UCV Culture Directorate, the Sports Directorate, the University Extension Directorate and the Preservation and Development Council (COPRED). .
