They appoint the former director of the Dgcim as the new president of Cantv
Nicolás Maduro appointed Army Major General Iván Rafael Hernández Dala, former director of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim)as new president of the Venezuelan Telephone Company (Cantv).
The appointment of Hernández Dala was made official in decree 5,044 published in the Official Gazette No. 6,857 of November 20, reported the Ministry of Science and Technology.
In his first public appearance as president of Cantv, Hernández Dala addressed the expectations for his management and stated that Maduro entrusted him with the mission of maximizing the results of the modernization and management of the company.
“From now on I am a more integral worker of the blue force and I will become the main defender of the workers of Cantv,” he stated.
Hernández is managed by another military officer, Jesús Aldana Quintero, who has been in charge of the Cantv Presidency since May 2021.
Who is Iván Hernández Dala, the former director of the Dgcim appointed president of Cantv?
Iván Hernández Dala has a degree in Military Arts Sciences, graduated from the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army and has trained in Strategic Management. He has specialized studies in Counterintelligence and Public Management, and has a master’s degree in Military Sciences and Arts.
From his military career, it is worth highlighting that he served as aide-de-camp coordinator of former President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías and was commander of the Honor Guard of Nicolás Maduro Moros.
In recent years he stood out for being in charge of the Dgcim, one of the State security organizations behind political arrests in the country.
