The operation was carried out without any injuries or casualties reported, as confirmed by a senior military commander to journalist Eligio Rojas.
Preliminary reports indicate that the alleged conspiratorial plans were aimed at generating violence as part of a political scheme prior to the presidential inauguration.
The 26 de Julio prison in Guárico is the prison with the largest inmate population in the country, with 2,036 inmates, according to official data from the Ministry of Penitentiary Service.
