They rescued 29 Venezuelan victims of express kidnapping in Mexico
At least 29 Venezuelans, including four minors, were rescued in two operations by state security forces in the municipalities of Tapachula and Huehuetán on the Soconusco coast of Chiapas, Mexico, reported the State Attorney General’s Office.
In the police actions, Mexicans Cyndi “N”, 21 years old, and Ervin “N”, 23 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto, and four motorcycles were seized.
Venezuelans were victims of express kidnapping when they were released by agents from the Immigrant Prosecutor’s Office and the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor’s Office of the Attorney General’s Office.
A complaint and the work of the Investigative Police attached to the Immigrant Prosecutor’s Office led to the location and rescue of the victims.
The first rescue was nine people in the Viva México ejido in Tapachula and 20 more, including four minors, in Huehuetán. The victims were made available to the immigration authorities for comprehensive care.
This Thursday morning, agents from the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, supported by the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the National Migration Institute, carried out an operation in a hotel in the center of Tapachula, where there were allegedly kidnapped migrants.
Until noon, the deployment of federal forces continued in the hotel building.
