Vente Venezuela calls for mobilization abroad to ask the ICC for justice

Vente Venezuela announced a call for a mobilization abroad to demand justice for the crimes against humanity which – he assured – has been committed by the government of Nicolás Maduro.

The organization led by María Corina Machado indicated that The mobilization will take place on Sunday, December 1 to call on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to act urgently and effectively against the serious human rights violations in Venezuela.

Venezuelans will congregate in squares and public places in different cities around the world and will remain silent “as a sign of respect for the victims of violence and persecution in Venezuela,” indicates a release from Vente Venezuela.

The organization urged those who join the activity to paint their palms red at mouth level and write the message “CPI, ACT NOW!” in both hands. Also to carry on banners photos of the victims and calls to action by the ICC.

Likewise, Vente Venezuela asked to use the hashtag #CPIActuaYaXVzla on social networks during the day to ensure that the act of peaceful protest captures the attention of global audiences.

In this way, according to the organization, Venezuelans will put pressure on international organizationslike the International Criminal Court, responsible for ensuring justice and human rights.

Venezuela accentuated its crisis after the presidential elections on July 28 in which Maduro’s victory was announced without detailed results being revealed. The opposition denounced fraud and assured, according to the electoral records that it published on its website, that the real winner was its standard bearer Edmundo González Urrutia.

More than 2,400 people were arrested in the context of protests against the official result announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE), also rejected by part of the international community.
