We turn to the ICC for justice
Opposition leader MarÃa Corina Machado sent a message regarding the global protest of Venezuelans with which they seek to demand that the International Criminal Court (ICC) intervene in the crisis that – they claim – exists in Venezuela.
As part of the commemoration of World Human Rights Day, Venezuelans around the world demanded that the ICC accelerate the investigation into crimes against humanity attributed to the government of Nicolás Maduro.
In a message spread through the social network Today, I ask you to listen to this message and join this global protest.
He also expressed the symbolism of the day chosen to make this demand.
“Today begins the season of Advent, the preparation for a new beginning…”, he mentioned to suggest that it is a point of renewal for the country.
Message from Machado for the global protest
Furthermore, in an audio, Machado recalled the situation that Venezuelans are going through with deficient basic services added to the repression by State security agencies.
«I ask each of you, my dear Venezuelans, that in this time of preparation we reflect on all of the above because in our determination lies the invincible character of our struggle. They will not be able to prevent us from enforcing the popular mandate that we issued on July 28 if we remain united and determined to defend it. Let’s take a step together, every day, in that direction,” he indicated.
At the same time he added: “In every city in the world where there is a Venezuelan, we are going to protest to tell this international court a very clear message: ICC acts now.”
Today, Venezuelans inside and outside the country turn to the International Criminal Court so that justice is done.
Today, I ask you to listen to this message and join this global protest.
